My name is Ben Rothary, I work for Land Rover. My job title is digital marketing manager. I am based within Land Rover UK which is part of the marketing, sales and service function.
I joined Jaguar Land Rover in 2002. I was attracted to Jaguar Land Rover for several reasons. I think, like most people, that the product is very interesting, it’s very exciting and the opportunities within the marketing, sales and service function, I think look stretching and interesting, so I decided to apply.
My first job in Jaguar Land Rover was in the customer service area. Current job in Jaguar Land Rover is digital marketing manager in Land Rover UK. So I look after all of our online marketing for the UK market. That involves looking after the Land Rover website, it involves looking after a lot of the emails which we send to our customers, it involves managing our relationship with people like Google, to ensure we’re well placed in search engines. So, they are the main responsibilities and day-to-day there are a few other things as well.
Some of the main achievements I’ve had since joining Jaguar Land Rover would have to count launching the new brochures for the Jaguar XK. I also changed a process which saved the company a lot of time and a lot of money. In my current role in Land Rover UK we’ve just investigated a lot of the process of how we communicate with customers. We’ve actually managed to do that in a far better way and save a lot of money and also driven more customers to actually have test drives and hopefully, buy our cars.
When I’m not at Jaguar Land Rover, I’ve got a fair few interests. Some of them are I really enjoy sea kayaking and do a lot of sea kayaking in Cornwall, exploring their cliffs and coves there. I also enjoy mountain biking and road cycling and have done a fair bit of that in the Lake District, and also in the Alps.
