My name is Andrew Hamilton, I work in Marketing Sale and Service, in the XK brand team. I joined JLR in June 2004, it’s 4 years ago.

My route to get into JLR was my university degree, it was a 4-year course, the 3rd year was an industrial placement here and I was looking after to get a job with Jaguar for that year. I have worked as an engineer for that year and then I’ve decided it would be good to come back. I got a job back and started in Jaguar after my degree finished.

I was attracted to JLR, I’ve always loved the brand, did very good vehicle lines and it started, it felt like a very good place to work. I’ve always admired the Britishness of JLR as well, I would be proud to work for an organisation like that. My first job at JLR was sales planning, this effectively meant that we reported the vehicle sales for both brands on a weekly and monthly basis from all our markets and then we asked if these were up to senior management and to the rest of the company.

I’ve had a number of achievements that I’m proud of since joining JLR. I suppose the most recent one would be we were flown up to Nürburgring in Germany, where about we had to give a presentation on the XK a number of markets and customers. The presentation ran well and the event was seen as a big success and I was pleased to be part of it.
