Training & Development
From the sophisticated luxury of Jaguar to the adventurous spirit of Land Rover, it’s not just our cars that go through extensive tests and challenges to help them reach their full potential. From building your model career path to fine tuning your expertise, together we’ll write your instruction manual for success.
A tailored plan
At Jaguar Land Rover, we’re always on the look out for the most highly skilled professionals, people who are driven to move two of the world’s leading automotive brands forward in a significant way. In return, as well as the kudos of working with talented people at the forefront of innovation and technology, we guarantee an exciting and rewarding career path and all the support they need to progress along it.
Here's how it works. First you'll be asked to develop your own specific development plan with your manager. It's your opportunity not only to meet any current skills gaps but also to prepare you for future career moves.
You can be sure of receiving plenty of encouragement and support to develop your career within Jaguar Land Rover. In fact, our Personnel Development Committees (PDC) exist specifically to support you with this objective. These are committees established in every function throughout the business, where groups of managers with a range of experience and backgrounds support the career development of employees. Put simply, they operate to ensure that the right people with the right competences are in the right place at the right time.
Continuous professional development
There are a wide range of development opportunities available, including support for technical and professional academic programmes such as Masters in Engineering. Our Leadership Development curriculum includes a number of award-winning programmes focused on personal effectiveness and relationship building, and we have a full range of personal skills development courses available. Of course, training is also provided in specific job-related requirements such as systems, health and safety and specific technical requirements of your role.
Your future
As well as formal training courses, you'll also be encouraged to think more broadly about your development and include other means of learning in your development plan, such as being involved in project teams, sharing best-practice, and reading trade journals.
It’s all about looking to the future, recruiting the next generation of experts to build the next generation of Jaguars and Land Rovers, vehicles that are more appealing, that reach out and are relevant to even more people around the world.
