Selection Process

To apply, you'll need a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent) all at Grade C or above in Maths, English Language and a core Science subject, plus two other subjects and must have the right to work in the UK.

Once your online application has been received it will be carefully considered and you can expect to hear back from us soon afterwards.

If you are successful at the online application stage you will need to bring proof of your right to work in the UK to the Maths test we run. If you have taken your GCSEs or equivalent qualifications already, you will also need to bring all of your original qualification certificates along with you to the Maths test. If you have misplaced these documents you will need to re-apply to the appropriate awarding body straight away, as without them you will not be able to sit our Maths test.

If you're successful in the Maths test stage, you'll be invited to attend an assessment centre, during which you'll have an interview, take some basic tests and participate in a group exercise. Don’t worry, more details will be sent to you in advance so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare.

We hope to make offers very quickly after the assessment centres, all of which are dependent on the minimum academic requirements being met for those in the process of taking exams this academic year. All new Apprentices will take part in a corporate induction before starting at college in early September. Before long you will be in one of our sites getting stuck in and learning your specific trade.
