Hints & Tips

You're revved up and ready apply but keen to avoid any breakdowns. Navigate your way through any potential hazards with our handy hints and tips.

Application form

Our online application process makes it easy to apply. But before putting anything down, it's well worth taking a few minutes to read carefully through the guidelines included at the start of the document. That way you'll make sure you fill it out as accurately, honestly and effectively as possible. If you submit a suitable application meeting our minimum criteria for the role, you'll be asked to attend an assessment centre or interview.

Assessment centres

Assessment centres are designed to measure key knowledge, skills and behaviours for the role to which you are applying. Each exercise you'll be given will assess a particular business behaviour, such as the ability to work as part of a team or your ability to analyse data under pressure. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the day:

  • Remember that preparation is everything. Do your research and show us that you're interested. Be professional and dress appropriately, aiming for the smarter side of smart casual.
  • Mental preparation is critical. Consider how you might answer particular types of question and how you'll demonstrate that you have the qualities we're looking for. What examples can you give from your time at previous jobs or from outside interests - even holidays can show initiative and wider skills.
  • Ask for clarification if you're not quite sure about what's being asked and remember that it's fine to take a moment or two to shape your answer.
  • Bear in mind that as well as this being an opportunity for us to see if you're right for Jaguar Land Rover, it's your chance to confirm that we're right for you. So ask as many questions as you want!
  • As a key part of the assessment, you'll be measured against our Business Behaviours, so make a point of familiarising yourself with them before the day.
  • Finally, relax and try to enjoy yourself!
