Graduate FAQ's

Do you consider graduates from any degree discipline?

In many cases, yes. If you would like to join us in Purchasing, Human Resources or Marketing, Sales & Service, you could be studying any degree subject. If, however, you would prefer to follow an Engineering (Product Development) or manufacturing operations route, you'll need to be working towards an engineering degree. Industry experience would also be preferable. For Finance and IT vacancies, a relevant degree is preferred.

What are the entry requirements?

For all roles other than Apprentices, we require a 2.2 minimum degree or equivalent.

Do you pay relocation expenses?

Relocation packages are not available for graduate roles but there is a joining payment. We can discuss this further during the recruitment process.

I've read the information and am interested in applying. What happens now?

Unfortunately we are now closed for applications for the 2010 graduate programme. We would normally open the programme for applications in October and close for applications in December each year. We would suggest that you bookmark the site and check it from time to time to see if we have re-opened for further applications, or in order to view other roles for which you may be suitable.

After the assessment centre, when will I hear how I've done?

You can expect news of the outcome shortly afterwards. We also offer feedback on assessment centre performance.

If unsuccessful, will someone give me any feedback?

Feedback is available on request after completion of our assessment centre.

What about work permits and eligibility to work in the UK?

We are happy to accept applications from candidates who have secured work permits to work in the UK. The duration of you work permit will govern the length of your contract with JLR and you will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK during the selection process. We regret that we cannot process work permit applications on behalf of candidates, therefore we ask that you only submit an application to us once you have secured the appropriate approvals from the Home Office to legitimately work in the UK.

What are the hours like?

Our standard working week is 40 hours, but the times you work may vary according to the department you join. We encourage a good work-life balance, but it's up to the individual to take responsibility for their own workload - and that might require a little flexibility.

What happens when the graduate programme ends?

On completion of our graduate programme, you will be welcomed as a fully-fledged member of the Jaguar Land Rover team.
